The group includes the State Space Agency of Ukraine, formed in 1992 from Soviet era space infrastructure that remained in the country, alongside the design bureaus Pivdenmash (Yuzhmash) and Pivdenne Design Office in Dnipro, long established Soviet and now Ukrainian launch vehicle manufacturers, and the electronics firm Khartron in Kharkiv. Members reflect Ukraine's continuing rocketry and space industry inherited from the Soviet period.
