The European Launcher Development Organisation, known as ELDO, was a former European space research organisation established to develop a satellite launch vehicle for Europe. It developed the three-stage Europa rocket, named after the mythical Greek figure, and funded ten launches under its members Belgium, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, with Australia as an associate member.
