The International Space University (ISU) is a nonprofit, interdisciplinary institution of higher education dedicated to outer space exploration and its peaceful applications, founded in 1987 in Massachusetts by Peter H. Diamandis, Todd B. Hawley and Robert D. Richards. It moved its central campus to Illkirch-Graffenstaden near Strasbourg, France, in 1994, operating there from 2002 until that facilitys 2026 closure, after which it transitioned to a decentralized network of regional and national hubs. Its flagship offering is the annual Space Studies Program, held in a different city worldwide each year since its first 1988 session at MIT and supported by most of the worlds major space agencies, delivering international, multidisciplinary education and research programs.
