Human Space Flight Centre

The Human Space Flight Centre is a body under the Indian Space Research Organisation, established on 30 January 2019 to coordinate the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme. Headquartered in Bengaluru and operating under India's Department of Space, the centre is responsible for implementing the Gaganyaan project, intended to send Indian astronauts into orbit and make India the fourth nation to conduct an independent human spaceflight. Its mandate covers crewed mission management, astronaut training and the development of related infrastructure.
