Space Epoch is a Chinese space launch company headquartered in Beijing, founded on November 26, 2019, that develops methane and liquid oxygen fueled rockets. Its Yuanxingzhe-1 rocket, also known as XZY-1, stands 64 meters tall with a cargo cabin exceeding 120 cubic meters and a payload capacity of 6,500 kilograms to sun-synchronous orbit, is engineered for reusability with ocean based recovery, and made its maiden flight on May 28, 2025, achieving what was reported as the first sea-based vertical landing of a reusable rocket in China. The company secured 200 million yuan in 2023 financing and announced a March 2024 partnership with the Alibaba Taobao platform to explore reusable rockets for parcel delivery.
