The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, known as MBRSC, is a Dubai government organization that runs the United Arab Emirates space program, including the Emirates Mars Mission, the Emirates Lunar Mission and the UAE astronaut program. It was established by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on February 6, 2006 as the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology, and was reorganized as the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre on April 17, 2015. The centre supports disaster management, rescue operations, environmental monitoring and land planning across the UAE and beyond using satellites including Dubai-Sat-1 and Dubai-Sat-2.
