The Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA) is Zimbabwe's national space agency, a wholly government-owned entity established under the country's Research Act and officially launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2021. It is mandated to promote the peaceful use of space and to apply geospatial and space technologies to support national development, industrialization, and informed decision-making, working through divisions covering space engineering, geospatial and Earth observation, space operations and launch, space science, and governance. ZINGSA operates Zimbabwe's satellite program, including the ZimSat-1 Earth observation cubesat launched in November 2022, which supports drought monitoring, mining and crop mapping, and weather forecasting, and it also runs the Mazowe Satellite Center for mission control along with a nationwide positioning reference network.
