Sian Proctor is an American commercial astronaut, geology professor, artist, author and science communicator who flew as pilot on Inspiration4, the all-civilian SpaceX orbital spaceflight launched September 15, 2021, becoming the first female commercial spacecraft pilot and the first African American woman to pilot a spacecraft. She previously served as education outreach officer for the first Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation mission, and in 2024 she was selected as a United States Science Envoy for the Department of State.
