British Launch Vehicles

Launch vehicles developed by the United Kingdom, chiefly the Black Arrow, a liquid-fuelled rocket built by Saunders-Roe and Westland and flown from the Woomera range in Australia. Black Arrow placed the Prospero satellite in orbit in 1971, the only successful orbital launch ever made by a British rocket. A rocket belongs here when its cited article calls it a British launch vehicle. Members are placed here from their own cited sources, so a reader can check why an entry sits in this group. The grouping forms part of the browse path for this section of the atlas.
