The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre is an Indian Space Research Organisation facility that designs and develops liquid and cryogenic propulsion stages for India launch vehicles and auxiliary propulsion systems for launch vehicles and satellites. It was founded on 30 November 1985, headquartered at Valiamala near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, with a further unit in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and propulsion testing carried out at the ISRO Propulsion Complex at Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu. The centre, which employed 1,294 people as of March 2026, has supplied propulsion technology used on the PSLV and GSLV launch vehicles and on the INSAT and IRS satellite programs.
