Boyden Observatory

Ground-Based Optical Observatories

An observatory near Bloemfontein, South Africa, established under that name in 1927 after Harvard College Observatory relocated its Southern Hemisphere station there from Peru, seeking clearer skies for photographic survey work. It later passed to South African university management and continues as a research and public-outreach facility.
