Jeanette Epps

Jeanette Epps is an American aerospace engineer and retired NASA astronaut who earned her masters and doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland before joining the twentieth NASA astronaut class in 2009. She completed analog astronaut missions including NEEMO 18 and CAVES 19, becoming the second woman and first African American woman to take part in CAVES, and she flew aboard the SpaceX Crew-8 mission, spending 235 days in space and 232 days on the International Space Station from March to October 2024.
