Alan Bean

Alan Bean was an American NASA astronaut and United States Navy officer who served as lunar module pilot on Apollo 12 in November 1969, becoming the fourth person to walk on the Moon. He later commanded the second crewed mission to the Skylab space station in 1973, spending nearly sixty days in orbit. After retiring from NASA, Bean became a full-time painter, creating a large body of artwork depicting his own and other astronauts experiences on the Moon, often mixing lunar dust and fragments of his own spacesuit patches into the paint.
