Edward Gibson

Edward Gibson is an American physicist and former NASA astronaut who served as science pilot on the third and final crewed mission to the Skylab space station, from November 1973 to February 1974, a stay of nearly 84 days. A solar physicist by training, Gibson made extensive observations of the Sun during the mission, including detailed study of a large solar flare, and it remained his only spaceflight before he left NASA to continue solar physics research.
