Launch and Space Transportation Companies

t/Space, also called Transformational Space Corporation, was an American aerospace company headquartered in Reston, Virginia. It took part in NASA programs meant to buy cargo and crew transport to the International Space Station from private firms, namely Commercial Orbital Transportation Services and later Commercial Crew Development. In 2004 NASA chose it as one of eleven companies for early concept studies on a crew exploration vehicle and human lunar return, with a three million dollar contract, and in 2006 it was one of six finalists for funded COTS agreements, which went to SpaceX and Rocketplane Kistler. Its signature design was the Crew Transfer Vehicle, an air-launched capsule for carrying astronauts to low Earth orbit. Its 2011 proposal for a reusable eight-person transfer spacecraft was not funded, and the company appears to have gone out of business before 2013.
