Amazon Leo, known from 2019 to November 2025 as Project Kuiper, is a satellite internet subsidiary of the American company Amazon, established in April 2019 and headquartered in Redmond, Washington, to deploy a large low Earth orbit satellite constellation providing low latency broadband connectivity. The project name was originally inspired by the Kuiper Belt; the United States Federal Communications Commission authorized deployment of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit, with commercial service expected to begin once the first 578 satellites reach orbit, and the venture aims to serve customers worldwide including populations that currently lack reliable internet access.
