Long-established aerospace and defense enterprises of Russia and Ukraine, many of them descended from Soviet design bureaus and research institutes, which built rockets, missiles, aircraft and spacecraft for the Soviet Union and later for its successor states. An enterprise belongs here when the lead of its cited article calls it a Russian or Ukrainian enterprise, design bureau or manufacturer, for example NPO Molniya in Russia and the Antonov aircraft company in Ukraine. United States legacy aerospace and defense companies have a group of their own in this subcategory.
